Photo Placeholders

3. Photo Placeholders

FastPhotoReports includes a great feature called 'Photo Placeholders'.   A 'Photo Placeholder' is simply a container where you plan to insert a photo later.  This is very useful when you know specifically what photo you are expecting such as the report Cover Photo.  When creating report templates Photo Placeholders can save a lot of time because you simple insert the actual photos into the placeholders and you are done.

To insert a 'Photo Placeholder'

  • Single click to select and highlight a photo in the photo viewer or single click the 'Add Photos Icon' if no photos exist yet.
  • Click the Add Placeholder button shown below and choose Before or After selected photo.

You will be prompted to enter a 'Hint' for the placeholder.  For example: "Report Cover Photo Here".  If you leave the prompt blank the hint will become 'Place Image Here'

Click OK and the Photo Placeholder will be added:

You can change the Hint Text at any time by selecting the Placeholder and clicking the option on the Placeholder dropdown menu.

INSERTING PHOTOS INTO A PLACHOLDER

To insert a photo into a placeholder simply double click the placeholder and browse to the desired photo.

-- OR --

Click the   open image button in the placeholders section of the Insert toolbar

--  OR  --

Select the placeholder (click) and then double click an image in the Photo Work Bin to insert.

NOTE:  You can add drawings / annotations and text comments to Photo Placeholders which will remain even after a photo is inserted into the placeholder!

Add Comment Blocks

6. Add Comment Blocks

A Comment Block is a block of text that will span from the left margin to the right margin in the midst of photos. Different than a 'Text Paragraph' subsection, the comment block will not have any titles or subtitles nor appear in the Table of Contents.  Comment blocks can be moved around by dragging just like a photo.
